Story

As many of you know, I was diagnosed with ALK-positive lung cancer last Summer. This is a relatively rare form of lung cancer and the vast majority of patients are non-smokers, half are under 50 years of age when diagnosed and the majority are female. Most patients are diagnosed at Stage 4.  I tick all the boxes (well almost - 55 when diagnosed!).

ALK Positive Lung Cancer (UK) is a registered charity established by patients and their families and friends. Their purpose is to extend the overall survival and quality of life of ALK-positive lung cancer patients across the UK. This is done through support, empowerment and advocacy. They are an amazing group of people.

So here comes the ask… Rick is taking part in the Isle of Mull Sportive in June and we’d like to raise funds for the charity ALK Positive UK. The Isle of Mull Sportive (www.mullsportive.co.uk/) sees cyclists circumnavigate the Hebridean isle for 87 miles with 2000m of climbing - certainly a tough one! If you are able to sponsor him we would be very grateful - the charity has been invaluable in recent month for information and support.

Thank you in advance for your support - this means a lot to me and Rick.
