David's Hardmoors 55 page

Hardmoors 55 · 25 March 2023
So the challenge is complete.
13.5hrs after starting I crossed the finish line in Helmsley, weather beaten & bloody but absolutely elated. A huge thank you to everyone that has offered me their support and of course an even bigger thankyou to anyone that has sponsored me. I knew people would say well done and the monies would be released regardless of whether I finished or not but I felt as though I had to finish to accept peoples generosity. I know this money will be used to provide help to fellas just like me when they need it most.
What next?
This Saturday 25th March 2023 I will be tackling the Hardmoors 55 ultramarathon. Starting in Guisborough the 55 mile route follows the Cleveland Way crossing the North Yorkshire Moors via iconic landmarks such as Roseberry Topping, the 3 sisters of Cringle Moor, Cold Moor and Hasty Bank & finally the White Horse at Kilburn. If all goes well I will finish in Helmsley. You can track my progress using the link below, I am number 257.

I've really given a a lot of thought as to whether to set up this page, I initially entered the 55 as a personal challenge that I could just quietly chip away at but if I've been asked a few times now about sponsorship so if I can raise a few bob for a charity that I am honoured to be associated with then I figured why not? Please be assured this really will be a massive challenge for me and I am sure I will have to dig very deep at times. However I know from my own experience that any funds I raise will really benefit men in the York area so that will spur me on I'm sure.
