At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Hello Peeps

If you know me then you will know I LOVE HIKING so this is a no brainer for me. My good friend and work colleague Helen has signed up to complete a 27 mile Hike across the Breacon Becons, but this is no ordinary relaxing hike through such a beautiful part of Wales this is going to require determination, training and hard work to complete.

As soon as I read about the Trek and why Helen signed up for this punishing challenge then I knew straight away I had to sign up to complete this challenge alongside Helen, for such an amazing Charity and on a personal note for my own personal kick up the arse challenge.

Since I turned 40 last October I've had a massive light bulb moment, a new lease for life, a new passion for excitement.  I have become more conscious of all the things I want to achieve in the next 40 years of my life rather than sitting on my arse and just thinking about what I would like to achieve! So I have given myself a massive kick up the arse and decided not to waste any further time thinking about what I want to do, instead I am starting to plan everything I have always wanted to achieve and this amazing challenge is going to be the first of many challenges for Charity.

Back to the challenge and why I need your help and support.  We are completing this challenge for a very special charity called CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. They provide clinical, practical and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

Along with my amazing, lovely friend and work colleague Helen and the rest of the amazing Team Leo we've joined together to raise money for CLIC Sargent who are an amazing charity who help children with cancer and have helped Leo Sanders (Helen’s Son) tremendously when he was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer back in May 2008.

Thankfully Leo is one of the lucky ones where treatment did it's job but unfortunately every day 10 more children will be told they have a cancer battle ahead of them.

PLEASE Help us to help CLIC Sargent help as many of these 10 children every day as possible by donating as much as you can (and don't forget to Gift Aid your donation please!)

The Challenge – I get scared just reading this….

The Brecon Beacons are the beautiful and stunning hills that run through the centre of South Wales and are the training ground of the SAS. As you can imagine, The Beacons route will provide us with an extreme physical workout and a psychologically taxing challenge. We will cross the highest peaks in the Beacons and South Wales including Pen y Fan (886m), Corn Du (873m), Cribyn (795m) and Fan y Big (719m)

TrekFest is tough… there’s no getting away from that fact – but it is achievable. Yes, it hurts; yes, it will push you; yes, there are moments when you will doubt yourself – BUT, you can and will succeed with the right physical training and mental preparation.– we can guarantee a spectacular charity challenge! – I hope I can do this……

TrekFest is going to test me to my absolute limits – it’s going to be a life changing experience for me and will uncover strengths that I never  knew I had!

SO now to your part, I need all your help and support.  For being part of this amazing and life changing challenging I need to raise a minimum of £240 for the amazing CLIC Sargent and your donations of any amount possible will be amazing and a great help towards this goal

Please donate via this giving page and please remember that this is going to help so many children across the UK because every day TEN CHILDREN will be diagnosed with cancer!

Let’s do this people, Thank you so much for your support. I will think of you proudly as I bravely Trek through the Brecon Beacons – I CAN DO THIS - BUT ONLY WITH YOUR GENEROUS HELP
