We provide information & raise awareness to support families and children with SWS

Story

Hi!

My name's Alex and I'm a twitch streamer raising money for Sturge Weber UK, a wonderful group for families and adults affected by Sturge Weber syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. My little sister is someone who is affected by Sturge Weber Syndrome.

Throughout her life my sister has overcome many of the challenges that are presented with Stuge Weber Syndrome. She is someone who I am incredibly proud and makes me strive to do better. So by playing some video games hopefully we can raise some money to help other overcome those same obstacles.

Sturge Weber Syndrome is usually indicated by a birthmark (port wine stain) somewhere on the face, usually involving the eye and forehead, also similar blood vessels on the brain, called an angioma. Those with Sturge Weber often suffer from epilepsy, hemiplegia (a weakness or stiffness affecting one side of the body, similar in appearance to that of a stroke), glaucoma and learning difficulties.

Sturge Weber UK helps families and those affected by providing support to them, promoting medical research and running a Family Weekend!

By donating we can help support the amazing work this charity has been doing for many years.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
