The ACLU is an american organization with a 100 year long history of fighting for human rights. Their efforts span wide, from LGBT rights, women's rights and POC rights, to religious liberty and voting rights.

Right now, POC rights and voting rights are their core focus. With police violence running rampant and attempts from the American government to hurt the voting rights of the marginalized (and by extension primarily POC and LGBT people), the work of organizations like the ACLU is essential. The people work on the ground, and organizations like the ACLU work to fight for us in the courts.

Even if you don't live in America, the work that the ACLU does is still relevant to you. As we stand before a climate crisis with little time on our hands to save our future, the election in one of the world's largest and most economically influential nations is of utmost importance. It is essential that we make sure every citizen has the right to vote without having to worry about falling victim to the pandemic.
