Story

Happy to announce the birth of Betty who was born on the 24th March, on a sunny day, at home. The plan is to resume my training as soon as she's big enough to sit in the baby seat on my bike! I am also looking forward to holding the second BMX Comp and raise funds for genesis research from the BBQ takings x

update: 16/01/2012- I'm Pregnant!. My baby is due on March the 17th. So my cycle ride has been put on hold. I'm still raising money for this wonderful cause and hope to complete my cycle ride in 2014

I organised a skate and bmx competition in September, and raised £106

My lovely sister held a Carol service on the 22nd of December but we only raised £16 it was still fun!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well! I've taken on an exciting challenge, cycling 450km through Central America, which is quite hotsville. The plan is to get fit enough to cycle the distances, support the charity by raising money (with your help) and accomplish something really good.

I am fund-raising for Professor Robert Winston’s Genesis Research Trust who aim to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the distressing and devastating conditions that affect women and their babies. This includes pre-term labour, cerebral palsy, miscarriage, infertility, ovarian cancer and genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy.

So! some hard training and fun fund raising to come. I am totally committed and looking forward to the challenge and adventure of it all.

I need to get the money in by 9th December 2011

I will be spending many many months making sure that the challenge is a success by training, raising sponsorship not to mention taking part in the challenge itself.

Despite countless breakthroughs in medical science, we still do not understand why some pregnancies will end in tragedy. For most of us, having a child of our own is the most fulfilling experience of our lives. All of us can imagine the desperation and sadness of parents who lose a baby, and the life-shattering impact that a disabled or seriously ill child has on a family.
