Everyone can relate to cancer in some form, whether it has affected you directly or indirectly. Over the years I have lost not only friends and family members to cancer but also students. At the beginning of this year I lost my Mother in law Jean, to cancer and I had wanted to do something in memory of her. 

I took up running four years ago, when I lost my mum suddenly to Sepsis, it was a way for me to work through my emotions and process what had happened to her and how my life had changed dramatically. I ran two  half marathons in memory of my mum, so it made sense that I should do the same for my Mother in law. I have wanted to do the London Marathon but never got through the ballot, so when the virtual one came up, I decided to go for it, this way I can have a support mechanism the whole way round. 

Most people run for the large well known cancer charities and the little ones get left behind. The Headteacher of the school I work at mentioned Shine Bright Support to me and after looking at the website and emailing the charity it was clear that this was the charity I wanted to support. 

So I am looking to you to help me support this fantastic charity and all that they do to support the young people in our society, when dealing with cancer. 

I should also say that when I take something on I will always try my hardest to succeed and not give up at the first hurdle. On Sunday 3rd October I will be running a marathon for the charity Shine Bright Support and I look forward to seeing you supporting me.
