HI FOLKS... THE AUCTION IS NOW OVER... and we have a very worthy winner who won with £19.98 - James Cook... Thanks so much to everyone who donated, I really really appreciate it.
PLEASE DO NOT GIFT AID YOUR DONATION OR YOU WON'T BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN THE PRIZE (and it may be seen as fraud!)
Hi Folks… Thanks very much for visiting my Just Giving page… Just to let you know a little bit about what I’m up to: in January 2011 I’m off to to be a volunteer project manager with Raleigh International. is a youth development programme which works in partnership with local communities to make a difference. chooses long-term sustainable & environmental projects like building schools, sanitation blocks and gravitational water feeds amongst lots of other things.
http://www.raleighinternational.org/ So I’m off in January to build something fabulous by day and sleep under the stars/jungle canopy by night but I’m afraid that means I need you to help me raise some money to go towards the expedition. I know you’re all inundated with sponsorship requests these days so I wanted to make this one a bit different and give one of you the chance (thanks to my lovely parents) to win something exciting in return. I’m doing an auction for my Mum & Dad’s ski apartment in Valmorel for a week, 12th – 19th March 2011, so there should be lots of snow and no French holidays! Valmorel is a gorgeous little alpine village with a ski area of 3600 hectares and an altitude of between 1400 -2800 metres. The apartment has 3 double bedrooms but can sleep 9 (with 3 sleeping in the large living room). The flat is a couple of minutes walk from the ski lift but you can ski home at the end of the day (Please see photo for the great view we have). http://www.valmorel.com/en/winter-hollidays/winter-holidays.html HOW TO WINA slightly different auction to what you’re probably used to… The maximum bid is only £20 and the winner will be the highest unmatched/unique bid! When you place a bid, the amount bid must be paid and all bids will be secret. The winner will be the person who places the highest bid that no-one else has chosen, ie. if 2 people choose £20 that will not be the winning bid. If however only 1 person chooses £19.99 then he/she will win. You may however win with £18.07 if that turns out to be the highest unmatched bid! Who knows! I hope that all makes sense to you and just think one of you will win a week in a ski apartment for less than £20!
Thank you all so much for placing a bid. Good luck everyone and I’ll keep you posted on my building prowess once I get out there.Closing date for the auction is: Midday on Tuesday 19th October 2010, so I'll let you know the winner after that.
