Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page.

So in a few weeks and i will be flying out to Nepal with the DNE2018 team. I am both excited and apprehensive. This is going to be totally out of my comfort zone, living in the villages with the locals, seeing the true Nepal.
But the main thing being on the trip is to make a difference within Deaf education in Nepal. Deaf education in Britain isn't that great, despite the hardworking staff, especially with all the cutbacks, but in Nepal things are a lot worse.
People tend to know me within the Deaf community, through my work within the Deaf churches in Liverpool Diocese, and Warrington BSL Signing Choir, and recently with me providing sign support locally at Cuerden Valley Park Run on a Saturday morning. However, everywhere i now go, i make people know the importance of Deaf awareness.
Over the last year or so, the DNE2018 team have been fundraising, completing practice walks - including climbing Mount Snowden, and I personally undertook my first half marathon (something i would never have envisioned doing prior to signing up for the Nepal team).
As you know i don't like asking people for money, and there are just so many good charities out there to support. But time is getting on, and we still have a long way to go to reach our target. So i am just asking if people could just save their copper, one and two pence pieces. Nobody likes carrying them around anyway. Every little helps. I know that i have people out there already putting their copper in a tin for me at their homes which is much appreciated, but i am sure that there are other people out there who can help too. Of course, if anyone wishes to donate more than copper, i would be very grateful.
As like others on the team, i don't have much family, so am relying on my friends to help me. Some of my friends have been particularly supportive.
The Pahar Trust is the charity we are supporting.
Thank you in advance for your continued support
