Story

October 12th 2015 my world changed forever when my beautiful sister Chantal was admitted to Addenbrookes and diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

When she was told 3 days later that she would lose her hair through chemotherapy, I made a promise to her that I would not have my hair cut until her hair grew back and then we would have a pamper day together and both have a hair cut.

Sadly this was not to be and Chantal gained her Angel Wings on 21st August 2016 aged 57.

I still have not had my hair cut since October 2015 and got to thinking how I could raise some money for Addenbrookes Hospital who does a truly fantastic job.

So this is where the idea of Loz's Lop Off came !

I will be having all my hair cut off on Saturday 15th April at the Newport Club at 8pm, where there will also be a raffle and music quiz.

My hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children and donation's will got via Addenbrookes Charitable Trust to Ward E10 where Chantal was treated.

Due to increasing demand on cancer services at Addenbrookes and the Rosie Hospitals, 2017 sees a major redevelopment programme for the haematology oncology department. A new, larger haematology day unit will mean that patients with blood related cancers can be treated more quickly with and improved quality of care.

With your support, the new haematology day unit will be a welcoming area inside and out. The outdoor area by the main entrance will be redeveloped, through planting and art, to create a relaxing area, a green respite in the middle of a bustling hospital complex. There will be a quiet room for patients to rest and have private conversations with staff.

As Being a cancer survivor myself, I would be eternally grateful if you could sponsor me for this event.

Much Love

Loz xxxxxxx
