Story
My dearest friend Christina's husband died suddenly and unexpectantly of Menigitis on 22 Feburary 2014. He was 39 and has three lovely children. He was fit, well and healthy. One evening he developed a severe headache and that was that. There were no other symptoms to suggest Meningitis when he was first scanned at hopsital. He will be missed so much and by so many.
It's estimated that 1,000 people die from meningitis and septicaemia every day. Many more are left with life-long disabilities. This charity have invested over £17m in vital research and health interventions which aid diagnosis. They spend around £1m a year in the UK supporting those affected and providing free information to the public and health care professionals.
Three ladies, three peaks (we like to call them mountains) and twenty miles to cover in one day. Bring it on!
It would make me a very happy walker indeed knowing that money had been raised to help fight against this potentially devastating disease.
Please don't worry about how much you want to give, every amount, large or small, helps.
