We provide support to the veterinary community

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Vetlife is a charity which supports the veterinary community through a website, helpline and a fund for financial support. I personally turned to the Vetlife website when my mental health had deteriorated. I found a contact who pointed me towards a safe, lifesaving clinic which I attended. This was the start of professional help for me. I am now hoping to raise awareness regarding mental health. Silence is a killer and I hope people reading this take on this message - asking someone about their mental health or discussing their own mental health will not do any harm - in fact it could help save a life. I see now that grandiosity, denial, believing I was invincible and not ill and believing I could sort my own mental health out almost killed me. I started with an eating disorder at 15 years old and I honestly believe that after years of running from it and fighting inside and now needing treatment at 29 years old to try to find some peace inside, the earlier the intervention the higher the chance of successful treatment - so if you do suspect you or someone else has problems please just talk about it no matter how big or how small it seems!!
