Story
On the 9th October I will be running the 20kms race in Paris for the UK based charity Pancreatic Cancer in memory of a wonderful lady and much loved mother, Jenny Owen. She lost her very courageous battle in early August this year and is sorely missed by her family and friends.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of any cancer. There is only a 3% chance of survival to 5 years and over 80% of people diagnosed in the UK will die in less than a year. These figures have remained the same for 40 years because of a chronic lack of funding and research.
Pancreatic cancer UK is fighting to change these statistics and provide support and advocacy for patients and their families. The surgeon who operated on Jenny is a driving force within the charity.
I hope that this small effort will enable the Pancreatic Cancer charity to provide better care and support for those suffering from this disease and their immediate families.
Please give generously and I will try and run as fast as I can!
Merci beaucoup! Lou x
