In September 2018, aged 3 weeks old Conor Parkhouse became critically ill and was transferred to The Evelina Children’s Hospital PICU. He was experiencing heart failure due to an arrythmia that noone knew he had.
On his arrival staff worked into the night to keep him alive until he could access life saving ECMO equipment, only available in a few centres within the UK.
During Conor's time in the Evelina he recieved a range of specialist treatment from highly knowledgeable and caring staff. It was their decision making, expertise and resources which saved Conor's life, allowing him to return home 24 days later.
As a sign of appreciation and support to the Evelina Alex and Noleen (Conor’s wonderful parents) have organised a series of fundraising events to raise vital funds to go towards a neuro- monitoring machine for ECMO patient use in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
