Royal Parks Half Marathon 2009 · 11 October 2009 ·
On Sunday 11th October, my Mum and Dad will attempt to run their first half marathon ever. This is despite a dodgy hamstring and rapidly aging joints. They are doing this crazy thing to help me, and others like me.
Although I am only two and a half, I have epilepsy. Despite trying different medications, there is currently no way of controlling my seizures which happen around 70 times every day. These have already become more severe and frequent in the few short months I have had this condition.
Epilepsy Action has provided my Mum and Dad with vital information and support just when they needed it. Epilepsy can be a hugely debilitating and progressive condition which can affect anyone, at any time in their lives. There is no known cure for Epilepsy, and often no known cause.
Epilepsy Action does an incredible amount of work sponsoring research projects, canvassing the Government and providing a wonderful forum for those affected by epilepsy to discuss, meet and obtain support. Their tireless work has done much to alieviate the suffering of many affected, and to enable them to live normal lives.
With generous donations from kind people like you, it would be my dream that this work can continue so that one day, hopefully during my lifetime, some kind of cure may be found for me, and others like me.
So please support my Mum and Dad in any small or big way that you can.
Wish them luck. They are going to need it!
Lots of love,
Lottie xx
