Story
Last year my Auntie Lin died of cancer and the Martlets Hospice staff were utterly amazing. She was an incredibly strong and proud lady, who was dreading the day she'd have to be taken to a hospice.
When she eventually surrendered to the fact that she needed to be checked in, the people at the Martlets couldn't have been more fantastic.
They made sure she was treated as the smart, interesting, intelligent and independent person she was and not a feeble old woman (which, being in her 50s, she wasn't anyway).
We were all absolutely heartbroken when she died last year, but knew that she couldn't have been better cared for at such a scary time.
To say thank you to the Martlets for looking after my Auntie and to try and get something small and positive out of such a big, horrible thing, I'm attempting to run/jog/walk/crawl the Brighton Half Marathon on Saturday 20th Feb.
If you have any spare pennies, it would be massively amazing if you could sponsor me.
Big, huge thank yous, and here's hoping I can actually do it!
