It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

I made a promise to myself that out of a very tough situation I would try to raise awareness of this illness, the early symptoms and how to attempt to tackle this beast - if it helps one other person in any shape or form, it is worth it.

For those of you that knew my Dad, you’ll know he threw everything at fighting this illness and did a bloody amazing job at it!!! I will be forever in awe and admiration at his strength and attitude and I can only try to make him proud and continue that legacy for him.

You’ll also know, he was a pretty special man.

I’m running my first ever half marathon as a step towards this mission - the Surrey Half on the 8th March.

The furthest I’d ran before starting training for this was around 6 miles so doubling that is going to be a challenge!

If you can support, please dig deep - this is a big beast to conquer!

Thank you,

Louise

P.S. here is a link to more information on the illness, the early symptoms to watch out for and please - if a doctor tells you not to worry about something you are worried about, keep insisting /persisting / get everything possible tested!!!!

Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we’re taking it on. It is tough to diagnose, tough to treat, tough to research and tough to survive. For too long this disease has been sidelined. We want to make sure that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need. We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.
