Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving Page.

At the end of the summer of 2015 a rash decision was made. After much goading and daft, macho bravado, it was decided that running a marathon was a good idea. London was calling.

We both had our reasons for wanting to take part in the London Marathon:

Clive - to prove that even though he is approaching 55 years young and has creaking knees and shoulders, he can tackle a 26.2 miles course.

Luc - to show that running like a newly-born gazelle with questionable balance does not hinder running (much). Also, having lost his father in early 2015, Luc wanted to run in remembrance of him.

Over the course of the next 16 weeks, we will endeavour to update this page with entertaining videos, photos and linguistic musings. Also, following a crash course in social media, we have created (Luc will create - Clive does not do social media) a Facebook group ("Luc and Clive - on a Marathon Mission") and also an Instagram account. Join or follow us as we go through the ups and downs of training.

Although we cannot guarantee that we will be completing the London Marathon in record time, we can guarantee that we will be giving it our all. Our aim is to get around the course in less than 4 hours.

We appreciate all the support given, through both sponsorship and messages of encouragement. Both will power us through the pain factor.

When it comes to running the London Marathon in April 2016, it would be fantastic to see as many friendly faces as possible.

Thank you so much.

Luc and Clive.
