Supports Victims of Crime, Domestic Abuse, Witnesses, their family and friends and those affected by Fatal Road Traffic Collisions. At the very worst time of their lives, we aim to give the very best service.

Story

I have been kindly sponsored by the IOMSPC.

In March this year my 14 year old sister, Lucia,  died after being a passenger in a car that crashed on the Switchback Road, near Peel.

On hearing the news that Lucia had died at the scene our family were to begin the worst nightmare of our lives.  The impact of 'sudden death' is such a huge emotional blow and, as the shock began to wear off, Victim Support were there to help to see us through and help us make sense of the tragedy.

This has been an impossible time for all the family and I am glad to have had people who can help. Obviously nothing you can do can bring back a loved one but Victim support are there to help when things become too much to cope with.  Always on the end of a phone, and regular visitors at our family home, they continue to offer advice and support for as long as we feel we need them. They have been great with my mum and my other two sisters,  and for that I am thankful.

I will be cycling in the Lighthouse Challenge (13th July) completing the 100 mile course from one lighthouse to another.

After that I will be entering the End2End Mountain bike Challenge (8th Sept) 42 miles from top to bottom of the Island mostly off-road.

All donations will be made directly to Victim Support (Isle of Man).  Staff there are volunteers and any funds raised directly benefit  the victims as well as  assisting with criminal injury claims plus providing emotional support for victims of the various offences including physical or sexual assaults, thefts, burglaries and criminal damage. They also support the families of people involved in fatal road collisions.

Thanks for reading,

Kyle
