Take the Plunge Sponsored Swim · 27 September 2014 ·

Through a combination of undercover investigations, research, campaigns, political lobbying and education, CAPS aims to stop the exploitation of animals in entertainment, particularly in circuses, zoos and the exotic pet trade.

Story

I'm a much better swimmer than my friend Isobel but on 27th of September I'll be swimming 1.5km at Manchester's Aquatics Centre to raise money for animals kept captive in aquaria. Everything in their instinct, from millions of years of evolution, makes them want to swim great distances in the wild. But they are confined to tanks in aquaria.

Captive Animals Protection Society this year exposed Sea Life's use of whales in acts - www.sea-lies.org.uk. They need more funds to pursue the campaign to end the use of these animals in humiliating acts, and to prevent further exploitation of animals in aquaria.

So please, sponsor my swim! Help make the difference to animals who need your help today.
