We support young peoples mental health to ensure they are valued and supported

Story

Hello everyone!

We all know that it has been a challenging time for everyone this year, the uncertainty of it all can be overwhelming, and many people have taken up running and walking to improve their mental and physical health. Therefore, we decided as a family we wanted to do something to help an amazing charity close to our hearts. This is why we chose Jigsaw, as it is a charity that provides support and services for young people’s mental health, which is a huge issue, especially under the current circumstances.

We decided we would run a half-marathon on the 24th April 2021. We have come together as a family and have managed to create a team nationally around Ireland, from the coasts of Cork to Donegal and Dublin to Clare, as well as internationally to France!

Evan proposed the idea of this event to his school, Harold’s Cross ETSS.  Rowie, the other class tutor, decided to get the whole school community involved too, by inviting both class groups and staff to take part.

Rowie’s Mom, Lucy Murphy, has already been doing an amazing job contacting local businesses in County Clare, which contributes to national awareness being raised, achieving our goal!

Any support to this amazing cause would be gratefully appreciated, anything helps!!

Thank you to the businesses that have already sponsored such an amazing event and cause - Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Cave, Cassidy’s Pub and Restaurant, Burren Perfumery, The Rock Shop, Caherconnell Stone Fort and Burren Wine and Food.

About the charity

Our mission is to create a society that values and supports young peoples mental health. We do this by delivering our free confidential one-to-one support services. By helping communities be more supportive to young people and by influencing change in how our society responds to young people.
