Story
Hello everyone,
I know you are all inundated with requests for sponsorship so many apologies for another one!!
However I am running the London marathon this year for a wonderful charity.
'The Mark Evison Foundation' has been set up in memory of Mark Evison - the brother of a friend of mine who died aged 26 in Afghanistan. Mark had been leading a patrol in Helmand Province when it came under fire. He managed to extract half his patrol before being shot in the shoulder. Despite his serious wound he continued to issue orders to his men; the entire patrol returned successfully to their base and there is no doubt that Mark's professionalism saved further loss of life.
He is a true inspiration and his family have set up the foundation in his memory providing money to promote the physical, personal and mental development of young people who can't afford to carry out such projects on their own.
It will allow young people to do something daring for themselves, a personal challenge, so that they walk away at the end feeling more confident, more courageous and more able to deal with the world.
If you can help I'd be very grateful and it might just ease the pain of running all that way!!!
Lots love Lucy xxxx
