Kidney disease affects 1 in 10 adults and may of these diseases can start in childhood. Even 1 in 100 babies are born with hydronephrosis, which often occurs in the womb and boys are 4 - 5 times more likely to suffer. It can take on many forms and require different levels of treatments. 

I / Freddie, were lucky that it was picked up early during my pregnancy and could allow monitoring, however, after over three years of worry we now have the hopeful resolution of an operation to correct Freddie's particular condition. 

I know there are a million and one well deserving causes out there but this is obviously close to my heart and my aim more than anything is to help raise money for research to find out what causes this condition, particularly in boys. 

For those of you who know me, not partaking in a drink or two will be a challenge, and it's not like I'm going to volunteer to sky dive or bungee jump, so this is my pledge!
