Story
In 2019, myself and a group of colleagues completed a Mental Health First Aid training course and wanted to take on an active challenge as a team on behalf of the charity Mind to help raise mental health awareness, making sure that nobody faces a mental health problem alone. We couldn't know then that we would all be talking about the impact of Covid-19 on our lives and mental health for the next 2 years...
Unfortunately the event was cancelled in 2020 and I was extremely disappointed to not be able to join the team at the event in 2021, due to breaking my ankle whilst playing netball just a mere few weeks before.
However, I will not let this challenge defeat me! After months of not being able to walk at all, followed by months of extensive physio, I can begin training once more, in a hope to emulate the achievements of my amazing peers and complete the arduous and undulating 100km continuous walk.
Please see below our fundraising efforts from last year, which I am carrying forward to this years Cotswold Way Challenge. (The offline donation of £590 represents a 5th of total funds raised previously)

Although I won't be starting the event on the day as part of the team, I was with them in spirit last year, sending messages of encouragement and I know they will be with me in spirit this year as I take on the 100km continuous walk flying solo!
