Story

On April 22nd I will be running the Virgin London Marathon, my first marathon as I have just turned 18! I will be aiming to raise as much money as I can for Carers Worldwide, which is a fantastic charity that supports carers looking after family members or friends with disabilities and chronic illnesses, focusing in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. These are unpaid carers in countries with virtually no infrastructure to help them.

Carers Worldwide works tirelessly to build up carers’ emotional resilience and support networks, and have so far set up 14 community centres. These places allow carers to return to the workplace or even school, as some of the carers are so young that they should still be in education. £50 supports a carer to initiate a new livelihood activity, lifting their family out of poverty, whilst as little as £5 allows a child carer to attend school for a month.

Please give as much or as little as you can, as even the smallest of amounts can help continue this amazing work to support those who look after others.
