Story

I am running the GNR to help raise money for the North East Homeless charity, based in North Shields. They do brilliant work so any pennies you can spare would be greatly appreciated and help keep me going to get to South Shields!

About the charity

In 2014, our founder, Brian Burridge, set up a Facebook group called North East Homeless. The group brought the North East community together to donate items such as sleeping bags, food, clothing, all in support of Homeless people in the Newcastle City Centre. North East Homeless became bigger than Brian imagined, the community spirit inspired him to formalise NEH and apply for Charity status. Then, in November 2016, North East Homeless became a CIO with the vision and direction of supporting people who are or have experienced Homelessness and/or Poverty.
