The breakthroughs in cancer care as a result of money raised through Cancer Research UK are invaluble to both patients and families. As carriers of the BRCA1 gene our family is testament to this. The improvements in the understanding of this particular type of cancer within the last decade have meant the current generation of women in our family have either beaten or are successfully fighting breast cancer. There are, however, more enhancements that can be made with the money to support the science.
If this is not reason enough, 13 miles is a long way to run- particularly in the British winter! Anything you could give as motivation would not only help me run now but enable better support for future generations... its a win-win.
