SHINE stands for Support, Hope, Inspire, Nurture and Empower. The SHINE fund helps support our service users at CNTW by providing extra things that can make a real difference. So far the charitable donations have been put towards:

-Recovery Colleges across the North East, including the Recovery College Collective (ReCoCo), a support service which runs hundreds of free courses every year 

-A new garden space for children and young people at the Alnwood unit 

-Music centres, bean bags and equipment for chill out rooms in several of the in-patient wards 

… and much much more. 

These extra things would not be possible from the funding received from the central government alone.
