Story

Over 2 years ago I was diagnosed with anxiety and clinical depression but like most I had been living with both for years, too scared to go to the doctors and admit it. The last two years have been up and down and mental health is something that I have to deal with every single day - although I am in a better place than I was two years ago, I could wake up tomorrow and feel back in the depths of depression. Depression and anxiety is much more than being sad and worried, it is life consuming and debilitating. Depression makes me feel worthless and anxiety makes me feel erratic. A month ago I became medication free after 8 months of slowly reducing my anti depressants and the withdrawal was like nothing I've ever experienced. The thing is, I didn't know this as mental health isn't openly talked about, especially medicating it. Since then it's been a rough ride and I realised I'm slipping into old habits and I am not embracing life. So I've decided to say FUCK YOU to depression and set myself 12 challenges - 1 for every month of the year to keep me motivated and engaged with life. Each month I will have a focus, more motivation and a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Some of these challenges are silly, some are scary but most of all I want to spend these 12 months working on improving my mental health, raising awareness, breaking the stigma and raising some dollar for mind in the process.

So far my year of challenges is:

NOVEMBER : running the Tatton Park 10k

DECEMBER : 12 random acts of kindness

JANUARY : A month sober

FEBRUARY :

MARCH : Walking barefoot over hot coals

APRIL - Velocity - Europes highest and longest zip wire - wish me luck!

MAY - The Three Peaks Challenge

JUNE -  challenging myself to not go shopping! I can only spend money on fuel, rent and food from a supermarket. If I want dinner and a drink - I'm gonna have to get someone to treat me! I will be documenting how I make the most out of the month frugal

JULY -

AUGUST -

SEPTEMBER - tough mudder a 12 mile run WITH obstacles including getting electrocuted

OCTOBER -

As you can see I have  3 months where I need challenges - sponsor me and let me know what you would like me to see in these months!
