The ICU is where the most critically ill patients are cared for; most require life support and few sometimes spend months on the unit without seeing daylight or breathing fresh air.   

The main aim for this fundraising is for A Sensory Garden - dedicated to Intensive Care, to provide a safe solace for patients and their relatives when recovering from critical illness.

The garden will allow patients and their relatives to interact and share their experiences in the tranquillity of nature. It will be a welcoming environment for young children, who are normally discouraged from visiting; as it can be daunting and traumatic. Families will have the opportunity to bring a beloved pet to visit to aid rehabilitation, reduce delirium and post traumatic stress.
