Hey everyone, 

With the pandemonium that now characterises our every day, it is easy to become desensitised or to forget the plight of others. 

For those of you who know me well (and perhaps even, those of you who don't), it is commonly agreed that running isn't quite my forte (apart from for the tube). I will, however, be running 10k to raise money for Birmingham & Solihull Women's Aid (BSWA), an organisation that supports women and children in and around the Birmingham and Solihull area who are or have been victims of domestic abuse, in a variety of incredible ways. 

Since lockdown restrictions were enforced in the UK, domestic violence helplines have experienced more than a 700% increase in calls from victims, with more than a 25% increase in calls from perpetrators seeking guidance on their abusive behaviour. As well as this, the deaths attributed to domestic violence have more than doubled in recent months. These statistics are all proof that vulnerable individuals need our help now more than ever. 

I warmly encourage each of you to donate whatever you can to BSWA in their fight against domestic violence - no donation is too small or insignificant.
