Oxford Half Marathon 2021 · 17 October 2021 ·

We provide specialist care for the people of Oxfordshire who are at the end of their lives and support their families, friends and carers. We strive to provide the best possible quality of life for our patients and to make every precious moment count.

Story

I am running the Oxford Half Marathon 2021 in memory of my best friends beautiful Mumma, Tracey Hoare.

Tracey sadly lost her long brave battle with Cancer in January. Sobell House Hospice cared for Her in her final weeks and I know it was one of Traceys wishes to raise as much money as possible for their Charity.

Running is not my thing, I just about managed 5k for charity last year. So the distance for the Half Marathon scares me slightly, but with some training I am hoping I can do this in Tracey’s memory and for Sobell House Hospice.

Sobell House is a hospice based on the Churchill Hospital site and is part of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is jointly funded by the NHS and Sobell House Hospice Charity. They offer specialist palliative care to those facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement in Oxfordshire. This encompasses physical, psychological, social and spiritual care and includes supporting their families and those close to them. They care for around 3,000 patients and their families every year.

It is their mission to enrich the lives of their patients and those who love and care for them. They aim to make sure that excellent palliative and end of life care is available to everybody in the community who needs it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, any sponsorship you can afford will be greatly appreciated by myself and Sobell House Hospice - https://sobellhouse.org
