The National Literacy Trust aims to create a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that they need to fulfil their own and, ultimately, the nation’s potential.

Story

I became involved with the NLT a few years ago through their extraordinarily successful Premier League Reading Stars programme which supports reluctant readers in schools.  But that's just a small part of what this charity does.  NLT promotes reading for pleasure for people of every age, from birth onwards - babies, children, teenagers, adults - working with families, libraries and community groups as well as schools, and also producing policy-changing research which shows that the ability to read well and enjoy books makes a huge difference to every aspect of people's lives, from health and happiness to career prospects.  It's a charity that deserves to be better known and very much needs your support.

So on March 20th  I'm breaking my usual solitary running habits and putting on a stripy top and bobble hat and Martin is doing the same - although he's always been a more sociable runner -  to join hundreds of other Wallys on Clapham Common.  Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and thank you even more for your support for the NLT.
