Brighton Half Marathon 2015 · 22 February 2015 ·
Hi Everyone,
Its that time again where I am beginning to train for the Brighton Half Marathon on Feb 22nd 2015.
This year I aim to beat my race time from last year. My time was 2:21 so I have my work cut out to get that time down. I am taking on this challenge in memory of Sam White who passed away last year following his battle with a brain tumour. Sam passed away from an infection and had always been determined not to let his brain tumour get the better of him. Sam campaigned non stop to raise awareness of his condition and he never let life get him down.
Sam is the cousin of my close friend and the loss of Sam has been devastating for the whole family. Everyone has been touched by Sam's story so this is why I am determined to raise some extra pounds towards Sam's Legacy. Sam lit up a room with his smile and I have never met someone so inspirational. I am honoured to have met Sam and his parents and hope anything I can raise will help to continue to support Sam's Legacy. There is a continuing need to raise awareness of Brain Tumours and to highlight the need for continued research and fundraising to help fight this illness.
Sam would have been turning 18 this year (2014) and I can't think of a better way to mark his 18th than raising some money so please, if you have taken the time to read this then give me a few more minutes and make a donation. ANYTHING is appreciated, whatever you can afford WILL make a difference to others fighting Brain Tumours.
Thank You,
Lyndsey :)
