We (Meg and Lynn), together with our team, "Leuka Skywalkers" will be hiking non-stop from Richmond Park to Brighton at the of May for Leuka (www.leuka.org.uk). As many of you know, Lynn was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia ("CML") almost 5 years ago and the treatment enabled by Leuka's research, has certainly helped make her journey a relatively easily one.

This is not the case for many other sufferers who do not respond to the variety of medications now available. For them, the final available option of treatment is an incredibly risky bone marrow transplant. Michelle (a good friend of ours) had to undergo a transplant last year, and without Leuka, she simply wouldn't still be with us. Thankfully, she is not only making a full recovery but she is also doing the walk with us! Read her story - its an inspiring one http://www.justgiving.com/chrisandmich.

So, we want to give back something to this amazing charity in the eventual hope that they will find a complete cure. Please give generously. This charity is small yet unbelievably effective. They began many years ago as Leuka 2000 and their was goal was to cure CML by 2000. Lynn's sister and family were involved with it all those years ago when they sadly lost a relative to this terrible cancer. Enormous advancements as a result of charities such as Leuka have without a doubt contributed to Lynn's current state of health - most of the time she forgets she has CML!

So we have bought our headlamps and walking sticks and are spending our weekends hiking and hope to complete the 100km in 24 hours. Wish us luck (and lack of rain!), but more importantly, send us lots of your lovely cash and lots of it! Meg and Lynn
