We develop new treatments to help patients with OCD.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, I have spent more than 35 years trying to improve the outcome for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. This time I am going to run to try and improve awareness. Yes, I do run longer distances but this is a project to do so to encourage people to talk about, think about and donate to OCD research and charities.

OCD is a chronic, disabling condition which can blight people's lives and potential. Most people do respond to first line treatments but these help manage the condition rather than offering a complete cure. Relapse can also occur as well as around 20% of individuals who do not respond to first lie treatments. We need new treatments but this requires research. There is a dearth of good quality research initiatives examining OCD. ORCHARD is a charity set up to try and rectify this and funds research into new treatment approaches for OCD.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
