BUPA Great North Run 2013 · 15 September 2013 ·
At 10.40am on 15th September, I'll be about to start the Great North Run. That's 13.1 miles of sweat, more sweat and tears. *gulp*
I'm running for a wonderful and inspiring charity called Grief Encounter, which helps bereaved children and their families through the confusion and pain of grief.
Some of you may know my friend Ben Brooks-Dutton who lost his wife Desreen last November. Well, Grief Encounter have been and will continue to be, a source of support for Ben and his little boy Jackson. As well as many others who are experiencing the loss of a parent or family member.
The services Grief Encounter provides such as remembrance days, therapeutic services and bereavement counselling are invaluable for families, but they all require funding.
I want to help raise money for this amazing charity because you just don't know what's around the corner.
Any spare change you have lurking in your pockets/messy drawer/creases of the sofa would be greatly appreciated. Also, as I go a livid shade of red when I run, I promise to post some post-race photos in return.
You can find out more about Grief Encounter below and on Ben's blog.
Thanks!
Lyns
