Story
An Angel with the book of life wrote down my baby's birth and when she closed it gently whispered.....Theo's too beautiful for earth.
Theo Harry James Randle was born on 28th July 2012 at 7.38pm weighing just 4lb 10oz. Theo had fought his way to meet his family, through a difficult pregnancy when Theo had been given only a 5% chance of making it beyond 18weeks he had grown and developed into a beautiful boy and was still snug at full term. Theo struggled from birth with his breathing and spent four days on the Neo natal unit at Warrington Hospital where the staff looked after him wonderfully around the clock. I had chance to cuddle him and give him the basic care that a mummy can. Theo got tired and on day 5 he was transfered to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital, as soon as we got there we were allocated a family room at Ronald McDonald house, a home from home so we could be never more than a few moments away from Theo. The staff were so caring for the whole family, so attentive to all our needs but above all wanted the very best for Theo. Theo had a few problems that were identified all of which could be 'fixed' that was until the results came back that he had 'Edwards Syndrome' it was the one thing we never wanted to hear.... you see there is only ever one outcome with Edwards Syndrome and it cannot be changed. Theo was not going to make it, all the fighting to be here could not save him now, we were going to have to let him go.....Our world had fallen apart, our hearts tearing in two then something truly wonderful happened, Theo opened his eyes, he opened them wide and looked at us all, he was alert and with us for ten minutes, gazing at our faces and the world around him........It was truly beautiful to tell him again how loved he was, to look into his beautiful eyes and tell him we were there with him, it was the most alert he had been in the whole eight days and we were not to see his eyes again until near the end, when his daddy and I were having a final cuddle he looked at us. This is why we feel blessed, blessed that we had a couple of beautiful precious moments that we captured on film of our boy, a feeling we will never forget. Theo slipped away to be an angel once more at 5.55pm on Sunday 5th August as the sun beamed into the room and a sense of calm arrived. The reason that Ronald McDonald House is so important is that it took away the stress of being away from your child at a time when they need you most, they made it possible for us to remain as a family close by to Theo, a home from home at times of great sadness. They are run from donations and fundraising alone and I feel we can acheive a lot for them in Theo's memory and that will mean a lot... XXXXXXX
