Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well I've been talking about this for years and now the time has come !

I shall be tackling the walk in 2 stages; the first stage will be from Lands End to Manchester scheduled for March/April this year.  The second stage from Manchester to John O Groats is scheduled for June/July.  I shall be walking mainly on footpaths following one of the more popular off-road routes totalling around 1150 miles.  You can follow my progress on Facebook or Twitter @markherring7

Starting from Lands End, the route takes a central path through Cornwall, Devon and Somerset to Bath, then through Bristol, across the Severn Bridge and up Offa's Dyke to Chirk. Then East through Congleton and Macclesfield and along the Pennine Bridleway around Manchester. It then follows the Pennine Way up to the Scottish border near Jedburgh and continues on to Edinburgh.  From there it tracks West, up past Loch Lomond to Fort William, then along the Caledonian canel to Inverness leading to the final stretch north along the East coast to John O' Groats.

If you would like to join me for any part of the walk, just let me know and I will send you a more detailed schedule.
