Fundraising for Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It's that time of year again were I start bothering my friends and try and prise hard earned cash from you.
Once again I'm attempting the Great Notts 100 mile bike ride on Sunday 26th June
The events main charity is the wish upon a star cause which is without doubt a worthwhile charity and last year I raised over 900 pounds which was amazing, this year however I am going to try to help a just as worthwhile but to be honest much taken for granted service, the Air Ambulance service, specifically the midlands section which covers the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland areas.
Each mission that they take costs around 1700 pounds and they receive zero help from the government it's a service everyone hopes they will never need but if that day ever came I'd want to be sure they were still around.
To be honest I really didn't know an Awful lot about the charity and the costs involved but a recent passing of my uncle Gill Owen brought it to my attention when donations were asked for instead of flowers so as much as I'm doing this to help them I'm dedicating this in his memory as he was a great man and will be missed
