Story
Alzheimer's or any form of Dementia is a cruel disease. Not only for those that are going through it, but those around them. It affects us all.
This year, we decided to participate in Cupcake Day for the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Hamish's late father who fought a long battle against vascular dementia 4 years ago.
Inder's dementia was accelerated by a stroke and for 2 years he battled the disease. His wife Ann, the love of his life, became his full time carer. We saw the struggle, the pain, frustration, and sadness first hand. We all fought this awful disease alongside Inder. When you see someone forget the most simple things in life, their mind disappearing it is such a cruel experience.
Unfortunately, Inder lost his fight in 2015, but he found his peace just after meeting his first grandchild, a little boy of whom he was so proud of.
So that is why we will be baking up a storm for this years cupcake day. If you are local then please pop along, we'd love to see you. If you are unable to make it then feel free to donate and help us raise our target in support of the Alzheimer's Society. Their work is invaluable. The monies raised will go towards research, crucial support services and vital care.
Help us make a difference.
