Twenty years ago this year my Father died aged just 63, a result of heart disease.  He never really knew my children properly - twins, Nicholas and Ian, who were just 2 when he died;  and Pippa, who was aged just 3 and a few months.  Pippa currently works for the British Heart Foundation - her granddad would have been very proud, as indeed he would be of all of his grandchildren.  He missed out on so many magic moments.  It seems fitting that Pippa and I are both participating in the 2015 London to Brighton bike ride to raise as much as we can for this very worthy cause.
