Marcus' London to Paris page

On Friday 15th November 2013 my Dad was admitted into hospital with a diagnosis of cancer in his shoulder. Over time this cancer spread throughout his body and as a result reached his liver. On Saturday 14th December 2013 he passed away in my hands.
My Dad meant everything to me, we spent so much time together doing things we enjoyed, whether that be mountain biking, walking in the woods, playing tennis or the occasional shop at Bicester Village!
One of my favourite memories was in June 2013, once I had finished my exams, we both went to New York for an amazing holiday, one day I will never forget is the day we cycled around Manhattan and Brooklyn in the blazing heat and visited an amazing food market in Williamsburg where we tried an assortment of strange food from all over the world, we were in our element.
My Dad was a huge fan of road cycling and in particular the Tour de France, he regularly took his Bianchi road bike out for a spin, his favourite ride being over the Moors.
In May 2015 I will be cycling just under 300 miles from London to Paris over four days, experiencing the picturesque French countryside and quaint villages from Calais to Abbevile, cycling along the river Somme to Beauvais and then a final push to the Eiffel Tower on the final day.
My Dad is undoubtedly the biggest inspiration in my life, he achieved such amazing things I can only dream of doing. It genuinely breaks my heart knowing he won't be by my side as I get older, get my first full time job and bring up a family. Losing him has left the biggest hole in my life.
