We respond to the world’s worst crises to help people survive &rebuild their lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit MUFG's JustGiving page.

The devastating earthquakes that hit Southern Turkey near the Syria border early Monday are affecting some of the most vulnerable people in the world. More than 23 million people were exposed to the earthquakes and its aftershock, with thousands injured or having lost their lives.

Turkey is the world’s biggest refugee host country with approximately 3.6 million Syrian refugees living in South-eastern Turkey where the earthquakes struck. Freezing temperatures have left thousands of people exposed to the cold weather and without shelter, and the many displaced and vulnerable families in Syria makes recovery even more precarious for people there.

In order to help the relief efforts in Turkey and Syria, MUFG will match donations made by our employees until 24 February.

How MUFG employees can help
Many of you have asked how you can help. Employees can support the urgent response efforts by contributing to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) through this MUFG JustGiving page. The IRC has launched an integrated response to affected populations in Turkey and Syria. With your donation, IRC teams can provide immediate cash, urgent supplies and emergency shelters.

MUFG will match employee donations, up to the 24 February.

To illustrate how you can make a difference:
£11 could provide materials for temporary shelter
£24 Could provide five soft blankets to keep warm
£91 could provide survival kit for food and shelter

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
