In June I shall be hiking up Hellvelyn with my Dad, as part of the Bnei Mitzvah challenge. This is a rigorous climb and it will be enormously challenging for me!
I have decided to raise money for Boys Town Jerusalem because during my primary school years at MMK, I regularly took part in concerts to raise money for Boys Town.
Boys Town is a fantastic school, that relies on 95% donations. It caters for boys from difficult backgrounds, giving them both an education and a place to live. The boys who graduate go on to become productive members of Israeli society. I am lucky that I come from a good family and go to a great school; JFS, but these boys don't have that opportunity, which is where Boys Town comes in.
Here are a few ways in which your money can help:
Post Covid Summer Programme @ £260 per boy - This is a vital programme for the boys, as they can remain in the structure and security of the school for longer during the summer, while also gaining essential preparation for the year ahead. Of course, as their studies and emotional health were severely affected this year, the boys need this programme now more than ever.
1 Term Scholarship for a boy @ £1200 - Scholarship assistance remains a top priority, with over 95% of our 950 students receiving some form of financial assistance.
