Mace apprentice 'rough sleep'

Thomas Hallworth is raising money for Mace Foundation

Mace apprentice 'rough sleep' · 3 February 2022

The Mace Foundation knows that homelessness is not inevitable. By partnering with St Mungos we will work together to help reduce the number of rough sleepers and support them in a sustained recovery.

Story

We are planning to take part in a 'rough sleep' in London on Thursday 3rd February 2022 in order to raise money for one of Mace's partner charities, St Mungo's.

St Mungo's - For over 50 years, St Mungo’s has been at the forefront of efforts to tackle homelessness. Each night our 17 outreach teams go out to help people sleeping rough to move away from the streets, and we provide a bed and support to over 3,150 people. We work to prevent homelessness and support people at every step of their recovery from homelessness.

The rough sleep will involve the team sleeping on the streets of London for a night with minimal resources in an attempt to raise money. The rough sleep will enable the team to see/experience the struggles which homeless people go through every day, especially in the cold winter months.

We have set ourselves a target to raise £1500 which will all be donated towards helping tackle homelessness. Furthermore, all donations up to £2500 will be matched by Mace Foundation which will help more people who are sleeping rough have somewhere safe, secure and warm to sleep at night.
