Hey there, 

I'm Maddy and in 2021 I've decided to raise money for the Butterfly Foundation: a national charity for all Australians impacted by eating disorders & those who support them. 

This cause is very close to my heart. When I was 16, I went through a personal battle with an eating disorder. I couldn't have got through it without the support of my family, and during this time I found the online resources and chat services offered by the Butterfly Foundation to be very helpful. 

At 16, I pledged to myself l that if I got better I would make an effort to help others who had been through similar experiences and do everything I could to reduce the stigma around eating disorders and promote help seeking. I can now say that I am healthy, happy & ecstatic to be able to follow through on that promise. 

So for my 21st birthday, instead of receiving a gift, I would love the Butterfly Foundation to receive a donation from you through my JustGiving page. It doesn't need to be a big amount, even a small amount can go a long way for those who are struggling.
