Story
I am organising a Target Ovarian Cancer awareness day at The Grange School on Friday 7th February. I have been the school receptionist here for over 30 years. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer in
2018. I had chemotherapy and surgery for this and am currently awaiting scan results yet again.
This particular cancer is often called the Silent Killer of women because often it is at stage 3 or 4 before it is diagnosed. I myself was misdiagnosed on three occasions.
With the help of The Grange School and Mix 96, the local radio
station, we hope to get to as many women in our community as possible to recognise the symptoms and pester their GP for tests. Women of any age can get this cancer. The more money raised will help research into earlier detection rates, rather than late stage as I am.
Please help us to raise funds and awareness for this. We all have female relatives this could happen to.
