I'm sure most of you won't understand where I'm coming from with this idea of raising money for a charity and running the London marathon 2013. But hold on and don't be so surprise, I've got a strong motivation: My Amazing Mum!

 

Everything started when a couple of years ago my lovely Mum decided to take the long walk of the Camino de Santiago which is around 850 km. It took her more than two months to cross the finish line. It wasn’t easy, but she made it. I still remember it like it was yesterday and I'm sure you can imagine my pride when she came back home skinnier than ever but alive!

 

So, because dogs don't make cats, and with the “wow factor" of her accomplishment, I've decided to make her proud too somehow one day!

 

My inspiration began to grow since and I've started to look for a personal challenge that could make a difference into people's life. The opportunity came along this year through Hilton Foundation with a big poster next to our service lift saying Run the London Marathon 2013.  With a lot of doubts and hesitations at first, I finally decided to go for it and give all my energy and strength to run the marathon for an amazing charity called Livability.

 

"Livability gives disabled and disadvantaged people real choice about how they live their lives.

 

As the UK’s largest Christian disability charity, we run a wide range of services for disabled adults and children. This complements our community mission work which supports churches to make their communities a better place to live. We welcome and work with people of all faiths and none."

The D day, I will run 26 miles (42 km) and I hope you’ll be with me along the way enjoying the love and positive spirit of the day and/or waiting for me at the finish line to have a HUGE LUNCH and a CELEBRATION DRINK (A cup of tea will be fine for me)
