Strictly Worcestershire 2016 · 26 May 2016
Better late than never. We hope so; we only agreed to take part in February...
Sixteen weeks to get to know each other and more importantly learn to dance?!
Jenny Gage is Chief Executive Officer of Sight Concern Worcestershire, your local charity supporting blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Not completely new to dancing, Jenny has been known to frequent the dance floors of bars, clubs and weddings, but she usually has a glass of something in her hand!!
Jenny isn't afraid of taking on a challenge; her hobby is white water kayaking and she's completed skydives, firewalls, cycled to London to Paris and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for charity. However, she says 'Strictly Worcestershire' could be her biggest challenge yet.
Mahmut Guler, our very own Turkish delight, born and raised in Turkey. Mahmut is better known as Manager of Worcester's popular Bolero Bar & Kitchen, which opened in 2012, offering high quality casual dining and an unrivalled choice of drinks, where he has worked since it opened and has played a key role in its establishment as being a top destination to dine and socialise.
His charismatic and friendly character makes him a well-liked host but deep down he is really quite shy. Although he has never considered himself a good dancer he is taking part as he says 'it's amazing to attend such a big charity event and supporting this cause is an honour'.
Lets hope the hard work, and the help of a fabulous teacher, will get them at least a few 'Seveeerns' and not 'a dance di-SAH-ster darling'.
